Lois and her granddaughter, Kreasia, are resourceful. Lois creates innovative meals in her kitchen, utilizing the ingredients she has on hand, and Kreasia uses her creativity to ensure her son, 7, has everything he needs to thrive.
Lois and Kreasia live close to each other, which helps strengthen their family’s tight-knit bond. Sometimes, they even run their errands together like recently, when they visited the Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB)’s Mobile Food Pantry in Grimes County.
Lois has been visiting the Mobile Food Pantry more frequently, but this was Kreasia’s first visit.
“Things have just been getting tighter lately, so I started coming more when we really need it,” Lois shares. “I’m thankful that these food pantries exist and help us stay afloat...even just a little peace of mind helps.”
To neighbors who may be in need of assistance, Kreasia says, “When you have children, everything changes — you do what you have to do for them... There’s no shame in needing help. Everybody needs help sometimes.”
