The Finance Director oversees the Finance Department, which includes the key functions of accurate and proper accounting of all organizational revenue and expenses. In addition to reviewing the accounting work of the Financial Specialist, the Finance Director is responsible for monitoring the budget, ensuring proper financial controls, forecasting, providing financial support across the organization, reconciliations, deposits and payroll.

Summer VISTA Associate - BVFB - 10 week term, 40 hours/week
The AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate program with the Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB) is hosting one VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) at its location to engage in a service project over the course of 10 weeks during the summer starting in June and ending in August. As the VISTA Summer Associate with AmeriCorps, you will support the client and community engagement efforts of the Brazos Valley Food Bank’s (BVFB) Together We Grow (TWG) program. TWG is a long-term food insecurity intervention program that supports household and employment stability through training, development, case management, and career coaching services.
The Brazos Valley Food Bank is a member of the Community Partner Program (CPP). The CPP is a collaboration between the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and a statewide network of food banks; government, faith- and community-based agencies; and other social service organizations. Community Partner organizations are trained and certified by HHSC to help low-income Texas apply for services using the HHSC online benefit portal, YourTexasBenefits.com. This position helps low-income Texans apply for Health and Human Services benefits programs such as SNAP (formerly Food Stamps) and Medicaid, CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), and other state benefits at the following Counties: Burleson, Washington, Robertson, Madison, Grimes, and Brazos. The position requires traveling to partner sites in these Counties daily. The position is responsible for direct implementation and growth of the Benefits Assistance Program and oversees the Referral Partner Program.
