A family box is an assortment of products such as peanut butter, mac n cheese, as well as toiletries to tide a family over. We have these on hand in emergency situations, but our partner agencies also like to order them for their pantry. Creating family boxes is like a scavenger hunt – looking through our inventory to find the items on the list.
The BackPack and Senior Outreach programs provide BackPacks and/or Senior Bags filled with nutritious, ready-to-eat food every Friday to chronically hungry children at local elementary schools or seniors who receive Meals on Meals, to get them through the weekend. We need volunteers to 1) assemble BackPack or Senior Bag items; and 2) conduct food drives to specifically acquire items needed for these programs. These are great programs that put smiles on the faces of hundreds of kids and seniors each week.
