Use Your Voice to Stand Against Hunger

mom and childWhy We Advocate for Hunger Relief

The Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB) advocates to protect and defend policies that seek to close the hunger gap at the federal, state, and local levels.

Did you know that as much as 25% of BVFB's food is from The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)?

Did you know that the Farm Bill, a multi-year federal law, governs an array of agricultural and food programs, including TEFAP and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)?

Did you know that the State of Texas provides funding to Texas food banks to help Texas farmers offset the cost of packing shipping surplus produce to food banks to distribute to those in need?

Protecting and strengthening legislation and government programs allows BVFB to realize our vision of a hunger-free Brazos Valley.

Advocacy Mission & Goals

BVFB strives to reduce food insecurity by promoting and defending anti-hunger policies at all levels of government through partnerships
